MTC - WEEK 2

CIAO EVERYONE!
Well another week and im still going. The letters are awesome and so encouraging. I am loving Italian and cannot wait to be In bella Italia. This week as been fairly uneventful so excuse me if this letters seems short =P Class is just so routine and the scedule so strict that other than maybe devotional speakers and stuff its all pretty much the same as last week. The only major thing that happend this week was that me and anziano anderson (my awesome companion) have been called as zone leaders =O yeah its kinda nuts because weve only been here 2 weeks. We are responsible for 5 districts, a total of some 55 missionaries. Its a little crazy all this responsibility piled on so quickly but were up for the challenge and have some of the best trainers we could ask for. Other than that not much happend. Elder Costa of the 70 talked to us on tuesday at Devotional and gave an awesome talk. The mission gets progressively better the longer im here. As i learn and start to understand the language I seem to enjoy it more and more. I look forward to all teaching oppertunities; even though they are all roleplays they are tons of fun and Anziano Anderson and I totally dominate at them.
Thanks a ton for the package! i have more cookies now than i know what do! and the T-shirts rock too. Im gonna need another package though this week =P I need my Italian 501 book that the Fenn's got me for christmas (some of the older guys have it and its helps a ton) and i also need like one more pair of socks haha. I didn't expect to have so much gym time. I'm keeping an eye out for CJ tomorrow. He will probably have a different lunch than me but me and Elder Micheal Scott will can't wait to break him in.
Well thats pretty much it.... Im getting better at italian everyday and am understanding the gospel better too. The days are long, difficult and i feel like i have so much to do but not enough time to do it; however, the spirit is strong here and i pray for strength everyday and some how im making deadlines and doing things i never thought possible. The gift of tongues rocks haha.
Ci vidiamo!!! And Love your guts =)

MTC - Week 1

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!
I am pleased to let you all know that i have surrvived my first week at the MTC! but only barely. THIS IS THE HARDEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE IN MY WHOLE LIFE. I thought climbing mt. whintney or a 50 mile trek through the middle of no where was hard but those are baby steps compared to this place. Thank you mom so much for the scripture you shared in your letter. I think of it everytime something seems hard or difficult.... like Italian! THe MTC is trying a new program where the teachers are only aloud to teach in italian and not speak a word of english to us so class time is spent straining to listen and understand what they say. its so difficult but the district above us speaks it fluently and they have been here only 7 weeks. I get better at it everyday and learn more and more, I feel like my brian is going to blow up with all the new grammer and vocabulary. I've learned the first vision and the missionary purpose by memory in italian. I can pray and bear my testimony also. It seems hard but the gift of tounges is amazing. This is the Lords mission and he will help me if he wants me to succeed. That knowledge helps me pull through the tough times.
So when you write me now I am not "Elder Hill" I am "Anziano Hill"; please address my letters and stuff that way =). My companion Anziano Anderson is an awesome dude! He's from Scottsdale Arizona. I couldn't of asked for a better colega. He is a really hard worker and always pushes me. He has been called as our district leader also and does a bomb job at it. He knows his stuff and has a great testimony also. The rest of the guys in my district are great guys also. We get along really well and always have eachothers backs. No one is getting left behind here.
Send me Pictures!! I keep telling them how awesome my family and friends are back home but have no pictures of you guys. My P-day is today, tuesday, so this is when i will be writing you guys letters and stuff. I can recieve letters anyday of the week but can only send them today. There is an ominous timer counting down in the corner of the screen telling me how much time i have left and its totally stressing me out. Oh and i wouldnt mind another white regular t-shirt, we go to the gym alot. I would also like cookies because cookies can make anyday an awesome day.
Well the Spirit here at the MTC is amazing. And everyday as i feel myself progressing in the Lords work i feel happier and happier. My testimony is blowing out the roof here. This place is amazing, although this is the toughest thing i have ever done it is the best thing i could be doing right now =)
Im running outa time because my timmer is blinking now. so im going to say That I LOVE YOU ALL and I LOVE THE LETTERS please keep sending them =)
Love Your Guts,
Anziano Kyle Hill
P.S. Cookies, Pictures, And T-Shirts. =) Gratzi

Final Countdown

It's been nearly 5 months since Kyle received his call to serve his mission in Italy. With less than a week left, the excitement is building. Our plan is to use this blog as a way to keep family and friends up to date on this great work that Kyle is taking on. His desire to serve the Lord in this way is a great example to our family. :)
